Organization Summary/Description

Sangini (India) Trust is a Delhi-based non-profit organisation working on issues of women's sexual and reproductive health and rights. Sangini is running the oldest community support program for LBT women in India, with an active helpline and support group since 1997.Sangini further undertakers public education, research work, works with the media. Along with LBT women, our activities are aimed at women, girls (upto 18), the women's movement, lawyers, health care providers, media, and public at large.

Our activities include:
Ø Counselling services for women dealing with issues around their sexual/gender orientation (helpline, email, online, face-to-face)
Ø Emergency Actions: defending the rights of women facing violence because of their sexual/gender orientation

Ø Training on LBT rights, helpline counselling, sexual and reproductive health and rights, etc.
Ø Dissemination of "A Guide to Your Rights - Legal Handbook for Sexual Minorities in India"
Ø Research
Ø Creating a referral of LBT- friendly health care providers, lawyers, etc.
